Alright, I've given up on trying to get you guys to join. Even on the person who said enthusiastically that he would join, but never followed though. So the winner is...

with

She gets first place because her entry didn't only show a scene from a story, but also connected with a major character trait of Zoë. I like that. I told you I would. Also, she got extra points for making not one but two good-quality entries. And besides, I was really looking forward to any entries for
Just Desserts because it is indeed my favorite story.
So, Moonlit, you get to pick one thing that you want a drawing of / a short little story written about. w00t! Note me your request.
However...

gets second place for

This is mainly because her drawing amused me and was done in a fun style. I also told you guys that it was good to amuse me (and I was a bit surprised to see that V-chan was the only other person who did so).
So, AoPT, you get a drawing of whatever you like. I won't put hours and hours into it because it's kind of a small prize, but it'll still be fun. Note me about what you want.

[edit4]
So, my friends, since there is at least one person planning on entering who hasnt submitted their entry yet the end date is now extended. The best part is, this person who plans on entering is someone who hasnt entered yet. Yay!!!

That makes me so happy!
On that note, this is the time when the rest of you should be throwing stuff in there, even if its crappy. It will make me very happy. If I have five people and twenty-eight lame entries and a few good ones, itll make me happier than having five people and a few good entries and no lame ones. If you dont have many viewers/pageviews, this could be an ubersneaky way to get your art out there and advertise your own work. Yes, Im encouraging you to do this for your own benefit, even if it does nothing to help me. (that was kind of one of the things I had in mind when making this contest, kind of like a feature journal)
[/edit4]
[edit3]
Friends, Romans, countrymen, I have decided to
talk like Shakespeare make a few changes to my contest. My reason? Only three people have entered. Heres the new info:
~You may enter art that you have previously done that was not made with the contest in mind (remember: You can have as many entries as you want, and your favorite may not be my favorite). I would be significantly happier to see lots of art from few people than little are from few people. And knowing me I will not end the contest till theres a sufficient amount of stuff to compare. So get on each others cases.
~If need be, I am more than willing to move back the end date. Just let me know if theres even a flicker of hope that you may enter.
~If for some reason still no one enters the winning prizes will be REDUCED to ONE prize that will be less epic than what I described before. Its like a carnival game: The more people that play, the bigger the prize (and the more people get prizes).
~If none of this was helpful and still no one wants to enter, Im willing to open a second part to the contest thats just drawing-related and doesnt require reading and in-depth expression. Prizes for that will be less than the original part, but nonetheless there.
What do you say?
[/edit3]
[edit2]
Alright, there seems to be some confusion about submitting text. I said to double-space the paragraphs. This does NOT mean all of the text. Just put an extra space between each paragraph. If this doesnt make sense see one of my literature deviations (which shouldnt be a hassle, seeing as you can only really enter this contest if youve read some of it). Sorry, I thought I was being clear.
And please: If you have a question, ask me. I'm here to help you guys.
[/edit2]
[edit]
A new category has been added! I call it: AMUSING!!!

The prize for this one wont be as big as the main prize, but it will still have one. XD
[/edit]

YES!!! Tis a contest! My first one ever!

Im going to be egotistical and make the theme art related to my stories. So in a way, its fanart. But heres the trick: You actually need to read (at least most of) the story youre entering for, so you know the characteristics of the setting/characters youre drawing/writing about (the reason for this will be very clear in just a moment). But if it's a short story (like
The Desert Wolves, which is three chapters) then I expect you to read the whole thing. Links to the stories can be found below.

NOTE: All must say which story it is from and link back to this journal (for my own convenience, mostly). You must also list all the characters you use. Also,
VERY IMPORTANT!!! IF THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THE ENTRY, PLEASE MAKE IT CLEAR BEFORE THE DEVIATION IS FULLY GONE THROUGH / VIEWED!!!

This one is fairly simple: You of course draw something out of / related to the story (this can be a character, setting, scene, whatever you like). It can either be straight out of the story or something from your own imagination, but please make sure to tell us which it is.
~For drawings of certain scenes, please put the scene it is from in your Artists Comments (optional) and a link to the chapter it is from (mandatory). But theres a more important part to this: You must write a description in your Artist Comments about what is going on (how the characters feel, what you think theyre thinking, etc.). Also, please post who is in the drawing.
~For "personal" drawings that you made up yourself, please put a description of whats going on (preferably in story-telling-form, but it wont count against you if it isnt so). Again, tell us whos in it, how they feel, etc. Go wild with this choice. Im open to just about anything.
~COMICS!!! Yay! How could I not have this? I love fancomics! They must relate to the story. If its kind of an inside-joke, feel free to explain whats going on. Page comics are great, too (you know, like comic-book style sort of).

This is where you fans can go insane and tell us what YOU think is going on when the characters arent being written about. Are there unknown feuds? Rivalries? Relationships? Celebrations? Do characters have secrets or secret places? Is someone secretly plotting against someone else? Is a minor character secretly following every move the others make? Here you can decide. Here are the requirements:
~First off, PLEASE double-space you paragraphs! If they arent double-spaced, Ill probably have a hard time reading it and will get frustrated and thats not a good thing if you plan to win.
~If its not clear whats going on, tells us in the Artist Comments (though things
should be clear, though there are always awesome expectations in writing).
~You may use any of your own characters, but I require that you at least mention characters from the story. Thats right, you dont even need to have them directly involved, as long as the setting is right (and its pulled off well, meaning its clearly from/for the story). Maybe you have your own idea for a clan from TGotM or a god/goddess thats after the Angel of Nine Tails powers.
~Please put in the Artist Comments which characters are yours and which are mine.

Thats right, Im accepting poetry too! It must capture the emotion of something (of what and/or who is up to you) and it must be clear who/what its about (at least in the Artist Comments, which is perfectly acceptable and perhaps even preferable if it helps you).

Though Im not as fond of photography as I am of drawings/lit, Im willing to accept it for this contest. But you have to be CREATIVE! Make it feel like more than just a click and submit (because I feel like though it can be artistic it also tends to be much easier than hours and hours working on a drawing). But Ive seen some pretty jaw-dropping stuff. NOTE: Youre free to use any of my photos of my Zoë costume (which are linked to in my Art Link page of TGotM, which you can find on the Lit Link page), but only for photo-manip (because you obviously werent the one in/taking the picture).

Though I will be looking at artistic/written talent, most of my judging will be based on how the drawing feels. If your art doesnt have the feel of the story/character or shows their personality, you just lost major points. A great example is a piece of fanart someone did for my very first chapter of TGotM (the intro in Book One). She wanted to draw Zoë hanging upside down from the monkey-bars as she is in the description, so I said go for it. Well, the art blew me away, but it make me grimace at the same time. Though I had showed her drawings of Zoë and suspected that she had actually read the description, the drawing was NOT of the Zoë we all know and love. In the drawing, she was wearing a mini-skirt (while upside-down), had a huge tattoo up her thigh, and the scrap of cloth tied around her bust was in no way, shape, or form modest. Thats an extreme example, but shows you what I mean. If I dont feel like the person you write about/draw is the character I have created (even a little bit) then you will practically be disqualified in my mind. Artistic talent wont help you there. This is why I require the reading (because it kills my soul to see my characters as NOT my character).
Mind you, you can do crazy things with them, but they have to remain as themselves, even if what they do seems out of character (which can be pulled off by keeping their attitudes and general moods the same/similar). Also, for the stories that dont have my characters in them, this might seem difficult, but if you can capture the feel of the setting and story it's based off of then youre in the right place.
Depending on how many entries there are, I may break up the winners into different stories/categories. If there arent many, Ill just clump them all together (but ties are possible).

You can enter for any story you like, though my main expectations are for these:
~The Game of the Monsters
[link] (currently 76 chapters long, split into 6 parts/books, WIP)
~The Angel of Nine Tails
[link] (50 chapters + into; finished story)
~Just Desserts (story not online)
~The Desert Wolves
[link] (3 chapters; finished story)
~Lucifers Sons
[link] (3 chapters; unfinished and just begun, but fun) (this one is pretty open, seeing as I only have the beginning of the story up, so Im looking forward to this)
Please let me know if you use another story so that I can put a new section up.

If there are multiple winners, I may change this, but as of right now this is how the prizes will be set up:
~First place: A full-blown drawing (digital or traditional) of just about anything you want and (if I can) maybe even a story about it! If you rather I wrote you a story, tell me. I dont guarantee that Ill be able to do this or that it will be of any significant length, but if theres something youd like to see me write about let me know and Ill try my hand at it (perhaps as well as the drawing instead of in place of it, depending on how things work out).
~Second place: A drawing/sketch of something of your choice OR a short story with a topic of your choice.
~Third place: A quick drawing of your choice with or without a (very) short story to go with it and my eternal love.
NOTE: If I know you in Real Life and I do a traditional drawing for you, then you MAY get it, depending on if Im willing to part with it.

As of yet, I have none, though Im going to put it at the end of Spring Break for the time-being. If an extension is needed, Ill give one.

NOTE: You may have as many entries as you like, but you can only win once (though it can be for multiple entries). To quote Lust from Tao9T, the more the merrier!
