Just trying to put a little more texture in his coats. I wasn’t too happy with them before, but I think that this is a bit better. They seemed too smooth and the leather jacket (the one under the trench coat) is supposed to be worn and a little tattered around the edges any way.

Say hello (again) to David from my favorite movie The Lost Boys. The title comes from one of my favorite lines (no, not "My own brother! A goddamn, shit-sucking vampire! You wait till Mom finds out!"). In one of the parts David (the "main" vampire) is messing with Michael (a human). They’re eating Chinese food in the vampires’ den and David offers the rice to Michael and Michael turns it down. David says something like "What? You don’t like rice? Tell me, Michael, how can a billion Chinese people be wrong?" The funny part comes right after that, but to figure out what it is you’ll just have to watch the movie, now won’t you?

Enough rambling. About the drawing itself: Obviously done in Photoshop. I spent most of Wednesday night drawing it and bits of Thursday fixing it up with a little help from ~bladesfire, who helped point out some of the flaws. One thing that I tend to do is make shadows too gradual (as can be seen in my paintings and other Photoshop work), so for this one I tired to make it look more like he was in one direct light (thus the sharper shadow). I think the effect kind of matched that in the movie better, any way. I think that the part I’m most proud of is the mouth (mainly the shadows on the tongue). And, of course, I’ve always liked the way the fangs are closer to the center of the mouth in this movie.
